A little history - dear hubby has his own house. The house is in desperate need of repair. The Brinkley Bungalow has been in his family for 3 generations, but hasn't been lived in for 3 years. Still decorated the same as it was 40 years ago. (Except for some black lacquer furniture he moved in back in the 80's or 90's - we won't discuss this - it is too scary.) Anyway, I think it will become our "final" home when the kids are in high school or college. It has good bones and is paid for... so, that is the plan.
About a year ago, I decide to remodel a room every quarter. However, the breakfast room was dragged out over a year. My hands are in too many pots with kids, job, art, etc. I set a small budget, but ended up costing about three times the amount it should have. Enough said here it is.

Here was my initial inspiration

But after reading the
Daisy Cottage blog, I new I wanted red in the room. She has red through out her home and it is beautiful . The Brinkley Bungalow has the same front porch and look to it.
Then I found this photo and I had a vintage screen door that I use in my art festivals. So, I had someone make the casing for the cabinet.

Dishes - Target $35 for 4 place settings
Made the curtains above from cotton dry towels.
Need more accessories and a table mannners painting and it is finished.
Now I need to focus on all the other things in my pot.... KIDS, ART and WORK ( in that order).
